Want to know who the new owner of the XFL is? IT DOESN’T MATTER WHO….
Obvious it is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Announced today, the former Miami Hurricanes football player, and entertainment phenomenon, The Rock and an investment partner purchased the league for 15 million dollars.
“With pride and gratitude for all that I’ve built with my own two hands, I plan to apply these callouses to the XFL, and look forward to creating something special for the players, fans, and everyone involved for the love of football.”– Dwayne The Rock Johnson
There is no timetable set for the league to return, and the deal isn’t finalized, but if all go correct the deal could be done by August 21.
The league has a new owner after shutting down and going bankrupt, essentially because of Covid-19, but can The Rock elevate the league to be competitive with the NFL. I don’t know, but I’m here to find out that’s for sure.
