Some High Schools just want to play.

Last week the Archdiocese of Philadelphia decided to postpone fall sports until the Spring. That was not welcome news for most of the Philadelphia Catholic League schools. There are three schools in the league who are not members of the Archdiocese but are Independent Catholic Schools, St Joseph’s Prep, Devon Prep, and LaSalle College High School. These 3 schools have come together with Holy Ghost Prep to play a modified schedule of some fall sports, Cross Country, Golf, and Soccer. St. Joseph’s and LaSalle are looking for options for football.

The importance of sports to young students in high school is important to help with the high school bonding among other things. In my opinion, your high school friends last forever, especially those formed on the athletic fields. I am still in touch with many of my high school friends, they are a big and important part of my life. The bonds are very strong. The administration of St. Joe Prep has more information about this move of these schools to bring a sense of normalcy to some of the young men in their charge lives. Attached is the press release from St. Joe Prep.
