The Union wasted no time as they had a shot on goal with the 1β of the game. If not for an incredible save, they would have taken a really early lead. A scary moment early on as goaltender Andre Blake hit the back of his head on the crossbar. He would however be okay and continue. The 0-0 tie was finally broken in the 39β minute by Jamiro Monteiro.

The Union opened the scoring quickly in the second half, and took a 2-0 nothing lead on a goal from Sergio Santos. Santos subbed in in the 46β and scored in the 49β. Frustration began to mount for Montreal as two yellow cards were assessed early in the second half. The Union gave up one goal but, would pretty much play keep away for the rest of the evening as they dominated possession for the remainder of regulation. And after 5 minutes of stoppage time the Union picked up the win.
Final Score: Union 2 Impact 1
