The Philadelphia Eagles came into Thursday Night looking for a much needed win. Fortunately for them The New York Giants were up next on the schedule and Philly has had recent success against New York. A win could put them right back in the mix in the division.
First Quarter

The Eagles started fast on their opening drive. A mix of the returning DeSean Jackson and Boston Scott resulted in the Birds first opening drive touchdown of the season. Carson Wentz did the honors with a touchdown run, his sixth of the season. They were able to get a stop on their first defensive possession but a bad sack and a short punt gave New York a short field, and they scored on their first play to tie things up. And that’s how the first quarter would end score, 7-7.

Philadelphia capped off the opening drive of the first quarter with a Jake Elliot field goal, and took a 3 point lead. The Eagles defense then stepped up with an interception on the next New York possession by Jalen Mills. Unfortunately it would be a squandered opportunity as Wentz would throw puzzling a pick in the end zone instead of throwing the ball away.

The defense didn’t budge though and came up with a fumble recover with less than a minute to play in the half. But the Eagles missed a chip shot field goal and only lead 10-7 at half time.
Third Quarter

Philly started with a third quarter with a big stop. The catalyst being an unlikely sack by the often ridiculed Nathan Gerry. However the home team was unable to do anything with it offensively. The Giants then scored after an absurd run by Daniel Jones and an end zone pass interference, and took the lead. And that’s how the quarter would end Giants lead 14-10.
Fourth Quarter
The Eagles started the fourth quarter failing to convert on fourth and goal, and turning the ball over on downs. The Giants would score after the Eagles were late challenging an obvious none first down and would find themselves down two possessions.

The Eagles would make things interesting with a touchdown pass by Wentz to Greg Ward to cut the lead to five. The two point attempt however would be no good. The Eagles D would get a key stop opening the door for a last minute game winning drive. And Wentz and the Eagles would not disappoint as number 11 hit Boston Scott for the go ahead score. The Birds would finish things off with a strip sack and take home the big victory.
