The Philadelphia Eagles came in to Sunday Night’s game against the Dallas Cowboys as an overwhelming favorite. They also have been getting healthy as of late. And a win would put them in a great spot in the lowly NFC East.
The First Quarter started with the Cowboys going down the field and taking the lead on a field goal. The two teams would then trade turnovers on strip sacks. The Eagles would end the quarter with a touchdown pass from Carson Wentz to returning Jalen Reagor. And Philly would lead 7-3 after one.
Philly started the second quarter with a key stop. They were able to force Dallas’ 3rd string quarterback in to a desperation throw on 3rd and long. However the Eagles did nothing with it as they fumbled on fourth and short and gave the Cowboys the ball on the Eagle’s side of the 50 yard line.
Luckily they only surrendered another field goal and were able to maintain the slimmest of leads. The Eagles tried some trickery on their next possession but to no avail. After another defensive stop the Philly offense was set up by a great Greg Ward punt return. However Wentz threw an awful interception to end the promising drive. The Cowboys would make them pay for it, hitting their third field goal and taking a lead into halftime 9-7.
