Former Defenders QB Lands Tryout with NFL Team

Former Buffalo Bills and DC Defenders Quarterback Tyree Jackson participated in an NFL tryout yesterday with the Indianapolis Colts. Jackson appeared in 4 games with the Defenders in 2020 and served as Cardale Jones’ backup. Jackson finished 11 of 18 for 46 Yards and a Touchdown in the 5 game, COVID-19 shortened season. Jackson also added 9 rushes for 28 yards in 2020.

Interestingly enough, Jackson’s official tryout consisted of him being listed as a Tight End. The 6’7”, 250 pound gunslinger has the size and speed needed to play Tight End. The Colts also brought in former XFL St. Louis BattleHawks Quarterback Nick Fitzgerald for a tryout at Tight End. The Colts have 3 Quarterbacks and 6 Tight Ends on their roster.
