The Philadelphia Eagles have made a change at quarterback. Carson Wentz has been relegated to back up duties, and rookie Jalen Hurts will start his first game against the high powered New Orleans Saints. Philadelphia has lost it last 4 games in a row. So they are desperate for change.
What Needs To Be Fixed?
At the top of the list has to be the protection. If Hurts is to have any chance to succeed, they have to protect him. If Hurts small sample size has shown anything it’s that he will be mobile and try to avoid the rush whenever possible. The running game also needs to pick up. The easiest way to take pressure off a young quarterback is to run the ball. Miles Sanders and newly re-signed Jordan Howard should get their fair share of touches.
What We Can Expect.
We can expect a hefty dose of Michael Thomas. The Eagles have struggle to cover the opposition’s top receiver for the last two weeks and this week looks to be no different. Thomas is a match up nightmare and seems to catch anything in his general vicinity. Look forward to him being a big part of New Orleans offensive game plan.
Hurts will provide a spark, but the Eagles just aren’t talented enough to keep up with the Saints. A tight game will eventually get out of reach and New Orleans should be able to outlast and pull away from an outmatched Philadelphia team.
Final Score: New Orleans 28 Philadelphia 20
