The Dominoes have started to fall within the Philadelphia Eagles organization. The first of which was head coach Doug Pederson. Pederson was fired earlier in the week after talks with team ownership went south. With that said the Super Bowl winning coach should receive some offers from teams looking to fill their top spot on the sidelines. Here are our top contenders.
5. Houston Texans
The Houston Texans after parting ways with their own embattled head coach Bill O’Brien earlier in the season, could give Pederson a look. They need an offensive coach that could encourage disgruntled quarterback Deshaun Watson to stay put. A coach with a knack for getting the most out of his quarterbacks when possible, could be a good match for Watson who is eager to take the next steps in his progression.
4. Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers are another team with a young quarterback full of potential. Pederson could do wonders for the electric Justin Herbert. Another one of the things the Chargers lacked in 2020 was a coach who knows how to finish games. LA struggled closing out one possession games all season and Pederson could be able to get this young team over that mental hump.
3. Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars have the first pick in the NFL draft, and more than likely they will be taking Clemson University’s Trevor Lawrence. Pederson could benefit from a fresh start with a quarterback he can mold from day one. They have more than a few playmakers, so who’s to say a new face heading the ship offensively couldn’t push them back into relevance sooner rather than later.
2. New York Jets
While the New York Jets are rumored to be seriously considering another candidate, they can’t be ruled out. The Jets will be looking to make the safe pick after the disaster that was Adam Gase. Pederson has a legit resume and is a proven winner. He could provide the legitimacy the franchise so desperately needs. And while the Jets are far from contenders but did show some promise at the end of the season.
1. Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons have far and away the most talent of any team currently without a coach. Pederson could be an excellent choice for a ready made team. He would need only to change the teams culture and philosophy. Years under a defensive minded coach has done a disservice to a dynamic offense loaded with weapons. Pederson could be the guy to make it work.
