Carson Wentz Traded

The future of the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback has been the object of much speculation ever since he was demoted in favor of Jalen Hurts. Well, the speculation is now over as Philadelphia has finally moved on from the former 2nd overall draft pick in a move many expected. Carson Wentz is now an ex Bird.

Where Is He Heading

Wentz has landed in the most likely of places with an obvious suitor. The Indianapolis Colts. A move to Indy reconnects Wentz with former offensive coordinator Frank Reich, under whom Wentz shined in 2017. It seems to be the perfect landing spot for the embattled quarterback and a place he can get back to playing elite-level football if everything goes right.

The Compensation

It is being reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter that the Eagles will receive a 2021 third-round pick and a conditional 2022 second-round pick that could turn into a first. While many believe Philadelphia wanted a king’s ransom for number 11 the market seemed to have dictated a much lesser price. Now that the saga has ended both teams can look forward to the immediate future and what it holds.
