Week One of Fan Controlled Football’s season v1.0 had plenty of excitement, action, and a bit of controversy. What would Week Two bring to fans of this new spring football league? Both the Beasts and Wild Aces looked to remain undefeated. Meanwhile, the Zappers and Glacier Boyz looked to get that crucial first victory of the season. At it’s peak, the FCF Twitch live steam brought in about 55,000 viewers during Week One. Well, what would the league do for an encore? Let’s fine out!
NOTE: Both games took place from the Infinite Energy Center in Duluth, Georgia. Games were closed to the general public.
Game 1 – Beasts vs Wild Aces – 8 PM EST
The Wild Aces would get the ball first, led by former FSU Quarterback Deondre Francois. Tight End Jeremias Houston would get a wide open touchdown down the sideline from Francois. A failed conversion attempt would give the Aces a 6-0 lead early on.
The Beasts would step in for their first drive of the night. It would last one play. Tight End Deylon Key on a beautiful connection with franchise tagged Quarterback Quinton Flowers. Following a successful conversion attempt from Christian Saulsberry, the score was 8-6 Beasts.

The next Wild Aces drive would see Ed Crouch in at quarterback. Crouch was assigned to the Aces following the announcement that franchise tagged QB Jackson Erdmann would be unavailable for the game due to to injury. Raphael Leonard had a couple of catches on the drive. Sprinkle in an eight yard rush by LaDarius Galloway, followed by a QB sneak by Crouch for a touchdown. A conversion by Isaiah King would see the Aces take a 14-8 lead.
Quinton Flowers would take the next Beasts drive solely into his own hands. He’d start with a seven yard scramble. Following two incomplete passes, Flowers would take off once again. This time, Flowers would pick up a monster gain of 30, on 4th and 3 no less. Flowers would cap off the drive with a three yard rushing touchdown. Damon Sheehy-Guiseppi would beat Dillon Winfrey during the 2-point attempt, giving the Beasts a 16-14 lead.
Deondre Francois would take the reigns on offense for the Wild Aces on the next drive. A run from Francois for nine, followed by Superback LaDarius Galloway would move the Aces in the right direction. The next play would put them back into the end zone, as Richaud Floyd hauls in a touchdown pass from Francois. Floyd would convert the 2-point attempt and give the Wild Aces a 22-16 lead.

This next drive would be the last of the half. The Beasts, with Week One standout QB TJ Edwards, wold look to score once again. Edwards would connect with franchise player Troy Evans twice on the drive. Following a sack by former Atlanta Falcon Donte Rumph, 2nd and 15 would call on a Power Up. Coaches Choice would be in effect on the next play. This power up gives the Coach on offense a chance to call the play on the field. The play would result in a TJ Edwards scramble for eight yards. The final play of the half saw Edwards taking off once again. He’d fall short of the end zone and was stopped at the 2. The Wild Aces would take a 22-16 lead into the locker room.
The first play of the second half would go down in FCF history as nothing short of controversial. Defensive Back Curtis Collins would come up with what looked to be an interception for the Wild Aces. Instead, the referees would rule the play an incomplete pass. Following the blown call, the Beasts would once again run the ball a bunch. Quinton Flowers looked to continue his ground attack, running the ball four more times throughout the possession. The former USF QB would punch it in on 4th and 1 for yet another score. Tight End Christopher Bazile would convert the 2-point try and make it 24-22 Beasts.
The Wild Aces would get just one offensive drive in the 2nd half. With Ed Crouch in at quarterback, the Aces began to burn the clock down. Just as they did in Week One, soaking up the minutes on the ground was the ultimate goal by the fans of the Aces. The trio of Crouch, Galloway and Virgies marched the offense slowly down the field. The drive ended with a four yard rush from Daryl Virgies. Following a failed 2-point conversion, the Wild Aces would lead the Beasts 28-24.
The Beasts would get the final possession of the game. TJ Edwards would spread the ball around quite a bit as the clock ticked down to zero. Edwards fumbled the ball which backed up the Beasts. On 2nd and long, TJ would run for 14 yards. Following a completion to Damon Sheehy-Guiseppi, Christian Saulsberry would reel in a catch. Following Saulsberry’s catch, the Power Play Power Up would be used by the Beasts. Tight End Deylon Key would convert a crucial 3rd down. On 1st and 2, the combo of Cecil Cherry and Donte Rumph would sack TJ Edwards. After a block in the back call which resulted in a loss of down, 4th and 5 loomed. The final play of the game day TJ Edwards scramble into the end zone as time expired. The Beasts would win 30-28!
