College football recap

It is hard to watch college football without the Big 10 and Pac 12, Notre Dame, for the first time in their 132 years is in a conference so they can play games. Things they are a changing but at least we had some college football.

10th ranked Notre Dame easily handled Duke 27 – 13 and the Fighting Irish moved up to 7th in the polls since Big 10 teams are that were in the AP poll have been taken off the polls.

Clemson is still number 1 as they handled Wake Forest very easily 27 – 13. Up next for Clemson is Citadel which should be an easy set up game for the Tigers and a game to get the bench some real time playing experience before conference play begins.

Number 23 Iowa State did not fare as well as the other ranked teams this week losing at home to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The Ragin’ Cajuns have never beat a Top 25 team and the last ramked team they beat was 1996 against Texas A&M at Home. But it seems the Sun Belt conference will no longer be pushovers for other conferences as Arkansas State beat Kansas State.

Looking forward, most ranked teams have not played a game yet and therefore still have what they believe is a pushover on their schedule for next week. I hope they were watching this week as the pushovers are fighting back.

Thursday picks

Aaaahh the beginning of football season mixed with NBA playoffs makes the Enigma very happy. Starting with a college game tonight UAB versus Miami, Fla. Miami has a new quarterback who fits right in to the run and gun style that they have been using for years. D’Eriq King brings a flair at qb that Miami was missing.

Look for Miami to easily cover the 15 point spread.

In the NBA, the Lakers lead the series 2-1. Don’t expect James Harden to lay down for the Lakers.

In the headliner of the night we have Patrick Mahomes vs. Deshaun Watson. The reigning Superbowl champs are at home in front of a maddening throng of 17,000 people. Arrowhead is not the same with 25% of the fans there. I truly do not understand the 9.5 point line but that is an enigma for another day. The Texans offense retooled, JJ Watt is back, this may be trouble for Big Red.

Look for the Texans to shoot up Arrowhead (mystery why that name wasn’t changed). Grab the 9.5 and run to the end zone.

As a bonus, take the 3 team teaser and add 7 points to the Texans, the Rockets, and minus from Miami. Money in the bank.

John and Matthew, by your lack of response to the enigma, you either fear or respect my powers. As in the past, I look forward to you trying to guess my identity, using reason must not be working. I have also “gained” access to the groups page and look forward to casting my shadow in there. Put your thinking caps on guys, you will need it.

Yours in darkness,

L.O. Enigma

Iii’mmmmmm baaaaaack

Well look who I found. It took some time John Chrichton but I found you again. You must be improving your staff, if it took me months to find you again. Did the Buzz get too loud for you? Haha Haha. We all put on different faces sometimes to try to be the stranger but we can never hide from our alter egos.

Good Luck this year John. If you go against me you will need it. If your readers amd followers are smart they will have a profitable year, at least while games last.
